Travis Rice: Snowboarding into the Future - Why We Watch

National Geographic called him "the best all-around snowboarder in the world." Red Bull produces feature films showcasing his talent. He snowboards some of the mostshow more dangerous and exotic back country terrain in the world. If you don't already know him, you should. Travis Rice grew up the son of a ski patrolman in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. At 18, he drove out to Mammoth, CA and weaseled his way into the Superpark Competition, beating out the competition when he launched a backside rodeo over a 110-foot gap jump. After that performance, Rice was asked to be a part of his first sports action film, Transcendence. Since then, he was won countless awards, including two X-Games Gold Medals and starred in the critically acclaimed snowboarding films: First Descent, Art of Flight and That's It, That's All. In 2012, Travis launched the first-ever Red Bull Supernatural in Bald Face, British Columbia, where he invited the 18 best back country snowboarders in the world to compete in natural conditions. It was the ultimate contest for the best all-around snowboarder and Travis aptly paced the competition.
