VANS Downtown Showdown Hamburg 2010 - Element
Vans brought to life the creative concepts of four of the earlier selected skateboard brands and their idea for the ultimate obstacle - each inspiredshow more by Hamburg’s naughty and nautical past and present. The designs by Cliché, Element Europe, Death Skateboards and Antiz were realised by famous ramp builder Andreas “Schützi” Schützenberger of IOU Ramps and installed on the Reeperbahn to be skated for one day only.
Team Element consists of Alexandre Dereon (FRA), Guillaume Mocquin (FRA), Phil Zwijsen (BEL), Mickael Mackrodt (GER) and Ross McGouran (GBR).
For Team Manager Alexandre Dereon it was important that the obstacle is related to the harbour, shipping containers, ships etc. So they designed a cargo ship with waves on the side.
Element’s “Oil Spill” obstacle, fits in nicely with Hamburg’s seafaring heritage and ads an environmental theme to proceedings. Once again, Phil Zwijsen (BEL) skated this one with creative vigor and was justly rewarded with €1600 for his efforts.show less
