The American capped off the 2014 campaign with a win in Las Vegas and, although he finished second overall, only celebrated one other top spot out of ten races.
He beat Scott Speed and Nelson Piquet Jr. to the line in the final while reigning overall champion Joni Wiman finished outside the top ten in Ft Lauderdale, meaning Block is off to the perfect start in 2015 as he looks to top the overall standings come the end of the season.
“Racing these really talented tarmac drivers is really tough,” he said. “They really pushed me and our team all weekend and it was a lot of fun.
“It came down to starts, and I got lucky - I got quick on the starts, was able to put some good times in, and came out with the win. It's a great way to start the year!"
After a non-points invitational event at X Games next week, Global Rallycross returns to racing in Daytona from June 19-21st.
